Editor's note— By ordinance adopted August 30, 1967, the board of supervisors of Hanover County created an industrial development authority as a political subdivision of the commonwealth, pursuant to the Industrial Development and Revenue Bond Act (Chapter 49, Title 15.2, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended). Ord. 04-22, adopted July 28, 2004, changed the name of the authority from "Industrial Development Authority of the County of Hanover" to the "Economic Development Authority of Hanover County."
